Australia has announced the reopening of their border to tourists who have collected vaccines and others who have visas for the first time in almost two years.

The reopening, which will happen on the 21st of February, would be good news for many sectors, including international education.
Australia had some of the world’s strictest border controls throughout the coronavirus pandemic.
In March 2020, the country’s government closed the borders.
It prevented most foreigners from entering Australia and restricted the huge number of people who entered the country to help fight COVID.

Some international students and skilled migrants have gotten permission to enter the country since last December.
On Monday, Prime Minister Scott Morrison said people who plan to enter Australia when the borders fully reopen would need to provide proof of vaccination.
“That is the rule. Everyone is expected to obey it, “he said.
Travelers who have not yet received their vaccine but have a medical reason to go must still apply for a travel exemption and, if successful, will be required to quarantine in a hotel.
