JAMB Postponed Registration Date For DE and UTME
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, has postponed the registration date for Unified Tertiary Matriculation and Direct Entry for a week.
The registration exercise, which was supposed to start on Saturday, February 12, 2022, will now start from February 19th, 2022, to March 26th, 2022.

The Spokesperson of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, said in a statement that the one-week postponement is to give them enough time to fine-tune the upgraded and more user-friendly procedures that candidates will use to register.
He added that they will conclude the process within the one-week extension period.
It would also give them time to get feedback from all stakeholders.
JAMB said the new and improved procedures for the 2022 UTME Registration will be available in their weekly bulletin on their website on the 14th of February, 2022.
Jamb said they want to introduce registration centres in Lagos and Abuja where candidates who know how to use computers really well could register for the Jamb exam themselves.
This self-registration is for the 2022 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry (DE) examinations.
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board announced this new development in their weekly bulletin, which was published on Monday on their website.
Dr Fabian Benjamin, in the publication, said the reason why they want to do this self-registration is to utilise the digital competence that the candidates have and to also reduce the crowd and make it easy for candidates to register for the exam.
“Why we considered this noble idea is to, besides other things, advance the digital competence of candidates who feel that they could do the registration by themselves and expand the registration access point in line with the COVID-19 protocol.”
“The people who will provide the service, Bankfort, are hopeful about the potential of the registration mode, which will not give them much trouble. That is what happens in developed climes.”
